Defining Data AreasWhen setting up a new MyServer account, we will need to know how you want (or need) to distribute your data to your users. For example, do you have groups of users that need the same documents, ie share them? Do certain users, for example Directors, need private areas away from the workgroup area for financial or payroll purposes?A file data area on our disc(s) will start with your six letter acronym for your company name followed by the name of your area. You can then map to this over your secure VPN by simply prefixing with the name of the server, ie \\10.0.1.201\<data area>. If you then want to connect to and use this data area on a regular basis, then you may wish to add a line to your logon script (accessed from within your MyServer Toolbox). Simply send us an email naming your data area, and then in the email, let us know which users are meant to access this data area. You can even specify that these users have this data area connected as a drive letter and we will set up these mappings and permissions for you. In any of these data areas, we can custom build anything you need as building blocks. Please ask, we can make your life easy! |
